Burnsville ISD #191: The District ranks first in the state for participation in the College in the Schools program of the U of M. During the last reported school year, students earned 2,517 college credits right on campus and saved $822,857 in tuition!
Spotlight on Science! Burnsville ISD 191 is the only one in the metro area to have science specialists working with students in K-6. This strong foundation results in many sucesses, most notably that BHS students have qualified for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair — the premier science competition in the world for students — for 16 times since 1992.

Magnet schools attract families! The district’s five popular magnet schools offer enhanced learning for elementary and junior high students at the Gifted/Talented and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) magnets. The performing arts magnet is Envision Academy of the Arts at BHS and PAC.

Lakeville ISD #194: The Lakeville Area Public Schools has an award-winning staff, students and aministration and has been nationally recognized for outstanding achievement! The Lakeville Area Public Schools will continue to focus on raising the achievement levels of all students during the next school year with relevant, dynamic curriculum and with its strong community support of the schools and programs. The 2010-11 school year marks the beginning of competition in the new South Suburban Conference. District 196 high schools Apple Valley, Eagan, Eastview and Rosemount make up four of the 10 members of the South Suburban; the other six are Bloomington Jefferson and Kennedy, Lakeville North andf South, Burnsville and Prior Lake.
Lakeville School District is #1 in the state! On mandated tests, Lakeville has the highest reading proficiency of the top 10 districts and ranks 2nd in Mathematics. In terms of the Total Proficiency Indes, Lakeville ranks #1!

Apple Valley District #196: District 196 will present resident voters with a local schools levy referendum question in the November 2nd General Election. The question will seek additional local authority totalin $512 per pupil, which would bring the district up to the maximum amount allowed under state law.

District 196 students top state proficiency rates in reading, math and science! The percentage of District 196 students who scored proficient or better on state tests in reading, math and science exceeded the statewide averages for all grades tested earlier this year, according to results released by the Minnesota Department of Education in July.

Winter Lighting Ceremony
Join in the countodwn with the crows as the switch is flipped bringing to life over 200,000 mini-lights, over 200 streetlight snowflakes and the 30-foot tree. The ceremony also offers entertainment by local youth choirs and holiday treats!

Burnsville Performing Arts Center
The Burnsville Performing Arts Center is located at 12600 Nicollet Avenue in the Heart of the City. This new complex opened in January 2009. The center has two theatres, a 1000 seat Proscenium Stage and an intimate 150 seat Black Box.
The lobby is two stories tall, all glass, with a sweeping view of Nicollet Commons Park, the Minnesota River Valley, and the Minneapolis skyline.
In addition to the theatres, the Center has a 2000 sq. ft. art gallery, meeting rooms and a large rehearsal room.
There is additional space for banquets, special events, and receptions.
Presentations at the Burnsville PAC will range from classical music to comedy, from jazz to Christian rock, from country to rock and roll. There will be dramas, comedies, local arts, organizations and national touring artists. There is something for everyone at the BPAC!
